The Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center was established with funding from the National Science Foundation in 1997. Scoot Science. We’re using ocean observing and modeling to reduce ocean risk at a time when every marine operator is confronting accelerated oceanic change. Our team of oceanographers, data scientists, and software engineers is focused on helping marine operators protect assets, operate sustainably, and increase profits by enabling a more complete assessment of local ocean conditions.
Our web-based underwater weather dashboard gives marine operators the ability to see what is going on below the ocean’s surface right now, and provides forecasts of what to expect in the days ahead.
