James Parrish

James Parrish is the Business Director for the Alaska Center for Uncrewed Aerial Systems Integration (ACUASI) at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. ACUASI focuses on the development and application of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) technologies. As part of UAF’s Geophysical Institute, ACUASI collaborates with various university departments, government agencies, and private sector partners to conduct research and fieldwork in areas such as oil spill response, wildlife surveys, atmospheric sampling, and infrastructure monitoring.

ACUASI is a key partner in the Federal Aviation Administration’s Center of Excellence for UAS and leads the Pan-Pacific UAS Test Range Complex, one of seven FAA-designated UAS test sites in the United States. Through these efforts, ACUASI plays a vital role in advancing UAS technologies and their safe integration into national airspace.
