Darlene Yaplee is a national aviation policy leader and the President and Co-Founder of the Aviation-Impacted Communities Alliance (AICA), a bipartisan coalition of more than 90 community organizations working to address aviation noise and community impacts while supporting the safe operation of a National Airspace System that works for all. Her work sits at the intersection of policy, lived experience, and technical analysis, focusing on how aviation decisions are evaluated, communicated, and experienced on the ground across commercial aviation, Advanced Air Mobility, and drone operations. A former Fortune 500 and high-technology executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience, she brings a pragmatic, data-driven approach to advocacy and regularly speaks at national conferences, participates on panels with federal agencies and industry leaders, and contributes to policy development and research initiatives. She is the recipient of the Aviation Noise and Emissions Symposium Walt Gillfillan Award for exemplary leadership.
