Monterey Bay Tech Hub Infrastructure Working Group
In February 2024, DART, Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP), and University of California — Santa Cruz collaborated to convene the Monterey Bay Tech Hub (MBTH), a coalition of regional stakeholders who recognize the need for collective action to strengthen the opportunity for AAM-based economic growth and job creation in the Tri-County Monterey Bay region. The MBTH Program structure is modeled after DARTs successful programs. Along with serving on the MBTH Executive Committee and Leadership Council, DART facilitates the MBTH – Infrastructure Working Group (IWG).
The objective of the IWG is to grow R&D-supporting and AAM operation-enabling infrastructure at Monterey Bay regional and local airports to accomplish the following:
- Attract additional R&D activity and public funding
- Pilot critical infrastructure and scalable approaches
- Supporting and expand existing R&D activity
- Strengthen relationships among AAM infrastructure stakeholder community from local to national scale
- Prepare strategic AAM infrastructure development plan(s) for consideration by larger Tech Hub group
The IWG meets virtually on the first Thursday of the month from 1-2pm, and in-person around once each quarter. If you are interested in participating in the IWG, please reach out to DART directly via email. View Agendas from past meetings below:
