Rosalyn Green

Position: MPC Board Member

Seaside native, Rosalyn Green, was born in the former Fort Ord Hospital, attended school in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD) and is a proud graduate of Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) and California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB).  She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies on the Teaching Pathway tract.

Rosalyn’s family dynamics inspired her to become a care provider. She was a counselor in a girls’ group home instilling self-worth and values to marginalized youth in Monterey County. Rosalyn has extended her work to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation/Re-entry Services, Community Advocacy, The Village Project Inc., Building Healthy Communities and in the Monterey County Supervisors District 4 office. She learned about operations of a Governing Board and Land Use at Fort Ord Reuse Authority (FORA).  Rosalyn is a Silver Life Member of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She regularly attends community meetings, especially, MPUSD School Board meetings and Seaside City Council meetings.

Rosalyn shares her love for education on several school campuses always promoting higher learning. She is deeply rooted in her faith believing, “All things are possible and nothing is impossible.”

She is the proud mother of four children and two grandchildren. Her oldest is a graduate of MPC and her third child is currently attending MPC.

Rosalyn believes that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
