Overview
The Mobile Drone Hub aims to address workforce development gaps and technology access barriers in California’s Central Coast by bringing hands-on drone training, technical support, and demonstrations directly to disinvested communities via a customized vehicle and mobile command center. Target groups include workers in industries utilizing drone applications such as agriculture as well as K-12 schools, career technical education (CTE), and higher-ed institutions, with the aim of providing highly relevant vocational demonstration and training in drone operations and data analysis.
The Mobile Drone Hub will equip trainees with marketable skills for emerging careers including agtech, fire response, and infrastructure inspection – expanding equitable access to high-demand workforce pathways and supporting their successful reintegration into the community by offering a concrete, forward-looking skill set that directly addresses regional industry needs.
The Mobile Drone Hub’s operations rely on a dedicated team, primarily consisting of a Program Manager and experienced Trainers managed by DART. The Trainers, proficient in drone operation, data analysis, and agricultural practices, deliver hands-on instruction and provide technical support. Bilingual support is a priority for the Mobile Drone Hub.
