Don Berchoff

Don Berchoff is the Founder and CEO of TruWeather Solutions, which focuses almost exclusively on low altitude weather solutions and services for drone and electric air taxi operators. A highly successful military leader, scientist, technologist and business entrepreneur, Don has 40 years-experience in the weather, aviation, and logistics industries. In the US Air Force, he designed and led regional and global aviation weather center operations for nearly every type of aircraft in the Air Force and Army inventory, was an aircrew Meteorologist with over 300 hours flying on EC-135s, KC-10s and KC-135s. He served as the Weather Officer of Air Force One and was the first 1-year Expeditionary Mission Support Group Commander at Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzstan, the main cargo and coalitions forces staging base for Afghanistan. Don served as a Senior Executive Service Officer leading the NWS Science and Technology Directorate (2008-2012.) Today, he is a leading contributor to the development of the weather component of the ICAO AAM Vision. He is a member of the JARUS Group and led the publication of the ASTM industry consensus weather standard. The standard is integral to Part 146 development supporting the formation of new rules for obtaining Automated Weather Data Service Provider certification.
