Peter van Deventer MPA

Dr. Peter van Deventer serves as Director of Coast to Coast (C2C) at the Province of Noord-
Holland and the Governor’s Office of Planning & Research, State of California. Peter connects

international stakeholders on smart, clean and equitable transportation solutions. For this
purpose he has contributed and executed some 20 multi/bilateral agreements like CA-NL
(2013, 2015, 2017), CECPNH (2014), Under2MoU (2015), IZEVA (2015), C2C SIF (2017, 2019)
and EIT Climate MoU (2021). Peter has been working for the Province of Noord-Holland
since 2007 and was positioned at the Dutch Consulate in San Francisco for eight years (2012-
2020) and was appointed in 2021 at OPR. Before joining Noord-Holland, he worked in
Burundi (1986-1987), the US (1988-1993), the Netherlands for Grontmij Consulting (1993-
2000) and the City of Leiden (2000-2007) mainly responsible for transportation and land use
departments. Peter holds BSc and MSc Engineering degrees from Wageningen University, an
MPA from the Dutch School for Public Policy and a PhD in Engineering from The Ohio State
University.
