Edgar G. Waggoner

Dr. Waggoner Founder and CEO of the Franklin Pitt Group, LLC and Senior Principal at Crown Consulting, Inc. He recently retired as the Deputy Associate Administrator for Programs in NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) where he was responsible for translating ARMD’s research portfolio requirements into specific, actionable programs and projects. His broad portfolio responsibilities included particular emphasis on development and validation of technologies focused on Advanced Air Mobility and Sustainable Aviation.

Previously, Dr. Waggoner had served in executive leadership positions as Director of the Integrated Aviation Systems Program and Director for Interagency Architecture and Engineering at the interagency Joint Planning and Development Office.

Dr. Waggoner received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Auburn University, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University, and master’s and doctoral degrees in engineering management from George Washington University. He is a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Rank Awards in 2016 (Meritorious) and 2023 (Distinguished) for sustained extraordinary accomplishment in leadership and management of programs for the United States Government. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Royal Aeronautical Society.
