Josh Metz is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Monterey Bay DART, where since 2018 he has built a nationally recognized ecosystem platform translating advanced air mobility and drone innovation into real jobs, workforce pathways, and regional economic opportunity. Drawing on a background spanning environmental science, landscape architecture, and regional economic development — including leadership roles at the Fort Ord Reuse Authority and Regional Government Services Authority — Josh brings a uniquely systems-oriented lens to the low-altitude economy. Under his leadership, DART has secured significant philanthropic funding, co-developed landmark programs such as the Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program (AMAP) and Aircraft Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship (AMTA), and helped catalyze over 700 new jobs in California through partnerships with Joby, regional partners and State agencies. He serves on the the California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) Board of Directors, the Monterey County Workforce Development Board, and is the organizer and host of the LIFT Summit.
