Kenji Sugahara

An attorney and a national expert on uncrewed systems, Kenji Sugahara is the director of the Oregon Department of Aviation. Kenji was a member of the FAA’s Advanced Aviation Advisory Committee and has served on several AAAC task groups as well as a number of FAA Aviation Rulemaking Committees including the Remote ID and BVLOS ARCs. He is a regional director for the National Association of State Aviation Officials, the chair of their Emerging Aeronautics Committee, and recently was accepted to be a member of the FAA Drone Safety Team. He is also a key member of the AAM Multi-State Collaborative. Prior to the Oregon Department of Aviation, he served as Chief Pilot for A-Cam Aerials, a media company, as well as the CEO for the Drone Service Providers Alliance, a 501(c)6 that represents over 35,000 small and medium sized drone businesses throughout the United States.
