Mark retired from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in May 2025, with over 34 years of extensive aviation experience working on matters pertaining to airport development, design, and operation.

Prior to his federal government retirement, Mark served as the FAA’s Director of the Airports Division in the Western Pacific Region, for 22 years, where he was the senior level executive responsible for the approval of federal decisions pertaining to airport certification, airport funding, airport planning & design, airport environmental clearance, and federal grant assurance compliance.

Mark’s FAA tenure included federal oversight over numerous complex, controversial, and time-sensitive airport projects started, or competed, at over 300 public use airports located throughout the West Coast and the Pacific.

In January 2026, Mark launched “McClardy Aviation Strategies, LLC.”. His consultancy helps clients achieve both federal support and timely approvals by building strategies that define “the what” and support “the why” for their proposal(s).
