Pamela Gutman
Regional Director, Advanced Transportation
Bay Area California Community Colleges
Pamela Gutman currently serves as the Regional Director for Advanced Transportation and Logistics for
the California Community Colleges (CCCs) in the San Francisco/Monterey Bay Area. Prior to joining the
Community Colleges, Pam was a Corporate and International Banker (Chemical Bank and Citibank) and
Management Consultant with SRI International (aka Stanford Research Institute). While at SRI, Pam was
part of the Transportation Practice and the Innovation Group. She worked on strategy, strategic
marketing, and competitive positioning projects with companies in aviation and automotive and across
other industries.
A major focus of her current responsibilities is to facilitate the alignment of the 14 CCC’s automotive
programs, the three heavy duty/diesel programs and three aviation programs with current and
emerging technologies and employer workforce needs. In recent years, her priorities have focused on
developing and providing training to CCC auto/truck faculty in EV technologies, Advanced Driver
Assistance Systems and Advanced Electrical Systems/Networks. She is also facilitating the development
of semi-autonomous curriculum/courses for students and incumbent workers and developing strategic
partnerships and apprenticeships across the transportation spectrum. The next challenge is to
understand how AI will impact transportation careers and what the resulting skill sets will be for our
workforce and students.
Pam holds a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in Political Science and a MBA from the
American Graduate School of International Management (aka Thunderbird).
