DART Welcomes Mary Ann Leffel to Its Board of Directors

Monterey, CA – The Drone, Automation, and Robotics Technology (DART) organization is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Ann Leffel to its Board of Directors. A highly respected leader in regional economic development, business advocacy, and aviation infrastructure, Leffel brings decades of experience that will further strengthen DART’s mission to advance workforce development and innovation in emerging technology sectors including Advanced Air Mobility, Autonomous Systems, and Robotics.
Leffel has been a driving force in the Monterey Bay region, with a distinguished career that includes leadership roles in business development, policy advocacy, and public-private partnerships. She previously served on the Monterey Peninsula Airport Board, where she played a critical role in shaping regional aviation infrastructure and economic growth strategies. Her expertise in economic sustainability, workforce training, and industry collaboration will be invaluable as DART continues to expand its impact.

Since its inception in 2018, DART has been at the forefront of fostering economic resilience in the Monterey Bay region through innovative workforce training programs, industry partnerships, and strategic convenings. The organization plays a key role in supporting the growth of advanced air mobility, automation, and emerging technology industries, including initiatives such as the LIFT Summit, the Joby Aviation Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship Program, and co-founding of the Monterey Bay Tech Hub.
Leffel’s addition to the Board comes at a pivotal time as DART expands its efforts to connect industry, education, and government stakeholders to build a sustainable, inclusive, and innovation-driven workforce.
